A group of well-meaning Algerian young people have launched on the social networking site “Facebook” a call for the staging of a nationwide campaign to clean up all the streets of the country’s 48 provinces on Friday August 14th 2015, under the motto: “Love your neighbours and Clean up your neighbourhood” .

The salutary move is designed to attract a million and a half million volunteers entrusted with carrying out this massive cleaning up and sanitation operation spanning all the streets and neighbourhoods of the country’s 48 wilayas or provinces.

This unprecedented commendable campaign launched on “Facebook” attracted thousands of positive comments from people of all walks of life who extolled the initiative and called on Mayors and local officials to harness all the potentialities in terms of transport and necessary equipment to ensure the full success of the anticipated cleaning operation.

A call was also launched on Imams or religious preachers urging them to sensitize in their sermons people inside the country’s mosques to the paramount importance of giving a helping hand in the scheduled cleaning and sanitation process in their own areas on August 14th.
