Bouhadja: “We Refuse Makhzen’s Desperate Attempt To Involve Algeria In Immoral Maneuvers”

The Chairman of the National People’s Assembly, Mr. Said Bouhadja, has sent a clear message to bellicose Moroccan King Mohamed VI, stressing that Algeria staunchly refuses to engage in maneuvers contrary to its moral, political and historical commitments.
“We refuse to be a party to the Western Sahara conflict. We reject all Moroccan attempts to hold us responsible,” he firmly said. “Algeria’s position towards the Western Sahara issue is truly in accordance with all international decisions and regulations,” he hammered.
Taking the floor after the voting session on the Consumer Protection Law and the exercise of commercial activities at the Lower House of Parliament, Mr. Said Bouhadja firmly responded to Morocco’s recent allegations about Algeria’s financing of the Polisario Front and its pseudo responsibility for the situation in the region.
“Algeria’s position is crystal-clear and is based on the principle of the legitimate right of peoples to self-determination and decolonization and this doesn’t imply at all that our country is a party to this dispute”, he underscored.
“Algeria believes in the file of the Western Sahara and regards it as a clear-cut decolonization issue, which is governed by all international laws and conventions,” Mr. Bouhadja stated, adding that Algeria’s sought implication in these shady maneuvers by Morocco is totally unacceptable, especially as it contradicts its moral, political and historical obligations.
The response comes directly after the lame accusations leveled of late by Morocco’s King Mohammed VI against Algeria, in a letter addressed to the Secretary-General of the United Nations.
In a different context, Mr. Said Bouhadja strongly condemned the horrendous crimes committed against the Palestinian people by the Zionist entity as part of the commemoration of the Land Day, by reiterating Algeria’s principled and steadfast position wholly supporting the Palestinian cause.
“Palestine will always remain our pivotal cause until the achievement of lasting stability and security… Peace must definitely go through the thrashing out of a just and comprehensive solution to the long-running Palestinian issue,” he underlined to this effect.
