Benali Cherif: “Morocco Should Provide Evidence To International Community Instead Of Continuing Allegations”

Morocco Foreign Minister, Nasser Bourita, should provide evidence of his earlier allegations of a Hezbollah-link with Polisario, instead of continuing its fabrications against Algeria with new accusations, Spokesman to the Foreign Ministry, Abdelaziz Benali Cherif, told APS.

“Algeria strongly condemns the new accusations that are made by Bourita of hosting meetings between leaders of Hezbollah and the Polisario during his interview with the French magazine “Jeune Afrique”.

“The Moroccan Minister, who was expected by the international community to provide evidence about his earlier allegations of the Polisario Front’s relationship with Iran, continued to run forward with new fabrications”.

“In fact, these unfounded and unjustified accusations reveal a policy of escape that he has chosen after the major setbacks which he has received in Africa, Europe and recently in New York, and that confirm his implication of Algeria directly in a conflict that the Security Council reiterated that it is an issue between Morocco and the Polisario in the framework of searching a solution to the fate of Western Sahara people.”

“In light of this campaign, Algeria will remain calm and strong with the unity of its people, the solidity of its institutions and the principles of its foreign policy. It will also continue to support the mission of the UN envoy in Western Sahara”.
